Newest Trend in Travel:
Summer Camp for the Entire Family!
Medomak Camp in Maine

Haven't you always been just a wee bit envious when you send your kids to
summer camp? Why should the kids have all the fun?

Well, there's a new trend in family vacations: Family Camp, which  gives the
entire family the opportunity to experience summer camp. But if "family
camp" conjures up visions of pitching a tent, starting a campfire to cook hot
dogs, and sleeping on the hard ground,  think again. This is a camp with all
the fun of summer camp wrapped up in a comfortable setting.

Family Camp is one of the fastest growing segments
in the camp industry. This alternative vacation
choice gives over-scheduled families a chance
to slow down, unwind, reconnect and try
something new.

Medomak Camp, located in the mid-coast region
of Maine, is one of the original Family Camps
and is a leader in this industry. Medomak has
been in the camp business for over a century
and for the last two decades has dedicated their
eight week summer season exclusively to
Family Camp.

In fact, they are the only full-season and secular family camp to be accredited
by the American Camp Association.

Campfires ... and Gourmet Meals

Archery, arts & crafts, tennis, photography, lakeside activities, and campfires
every night are just the beginning of activities offered each week at Medomak
Camp. All activities and organized and led by experienced instructors and
staff.

How does the thought of a chef preparing three healthy, hearty meals a day
sound? We’re not talking about your traditional camp food. Think lobster,
mussels, and homemade muffins replete with fresh picked blueberries,
pancakes or cobbler enhanced with more of those blueberries.

Salads and other vegetables are  picked straight from the camp's organic
production garden.  Medomak also has its own licensed dairy providing fresh
cream in your morning coffee and homemade yogurts and fresh cheeses.

Comfortable Accommodations

Worried about sagging tents, blowing up air mattresses or sleeping on the
cold, hard ground? Worry no more. Clean pine cabins equipped with rocking
chairs, queen and twin size mattresses and box springs, reading lights and
private bathrooms with hot showers offer welcome creature comforts.
Adirondacks chairs strategically placed outside each cabin in the sunshine
entice you to enjoy a good book or a glass of wine before dinner.

Tuition is all inclusive so there are no hidden costs for boat or equipment
rentals, instruction or snacks. A family of four can enjoy a week’s vacation for
approximately $3700.

Medomak is located in the mid-coast region of Maine, an easy hour and a half
drive from Portland’s International Jetport, or a three hour drive north from
Manchester New Hampshire’s airport or from Boston’s Logan International
Airport. Located close to quaint coastal villages, as well as Acadia National
Park and Freeport (home of LL Bean), makes this an easy choice when
deciding on a great way to explore Maine as a family. For more information
