If you ever wanted to take a tour of ALL the lighthouses
in Maine, your chance is coming up on Saturday,
September 12, 2009, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. when all of
Maine's 27 active lighthouses will be open to the public.
This is the first largest effort of its kind in the nation --
and the first ever open lighthouse event in Maine. It has
been made possible by a partnership by the U.S. Coast
Guard, the State of Maine and the American Lighthouse Foundation. Mark your
calendars and come and celebrate Maine's maritime heritage and its rich history
of lighthouses and lighthouse keepers! For more details and a list of
