A seaside festival celebrating the Atlantic Salmon industry on the Maine coast.
Free parking and free admission. Music, two day arts and craft show. Saturday
Chowder dinners, Sunday great Salmon dinners, boat tours of the salmon pens,
industry information, and a slide show on salmon aquaculture. Lots of fun in a
stunning setting. Other activities included Maine wine tent, architectural tour,

Notes from the Heart...
On our way out from Cape Cod we gave our camping neighbor some organic
eggs we purchased there, because we felt so grateful that he gave us fresh sea
bass, caught that day. He said he never had organic eggs before...and I bet after a
taste of them (like our taste of fresh bass), he won't go back to conventional eggs!
Organic, local, eggs are so wonderful that I am happy to shell out extra dollars for
them. The yolks are deep yellow, stand up to an over easy treatment, and taste
so good! This week we're featuring one of NH's organic egg producers, Pete &
Gerry's, who are not only bringing organic eggs to market, but are helping small
egg producers across the state. ~ M.

Feature: Keeping Family Farms Alive...One Egg at a Time
In the last ten years, this family farm in New Hampshire’s White Mountains has
grown and prospered to the point that it can barely keep up with the demand for
its 100% organic, cage-free eggs. Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs has become a
family farming phenomenon.
Recipe: Zucchini with Mint & Garlic
This is the kind of unusual vegetable preparation one finds in traditional
restaurants in Italy. It is suitable as an appetizer or as great acidic side to fish
dishes and grilled poultry or meat.
From our Archives: The Frost Farm in Derry, NH
Poet Robert Frost only spent a fraction of his life in Derry, New Hampshire, but
those years resurfaced in his poetry all his life and laid the foundation for his
literary career. Today, visitors can tour the farm where his family spent nine hard
summers and chilly winters without electricity or running water.
