Calendar Pick of the Week:
No Passport Needed for Two Nation Lighthouse Challenge
CUTLER, Maine - Three lighthouse
organizations in Washington County Maine
and Canada will test sentinel seekers
on August 9 with the inaugural Lights
Across the Border Lighthouse Challenge.
Participants will visit Head Harbour
Lighthouse and Mulholland Lighthouse
on Campobello Island in New Brunswick,
Canada; Lubec Channel Lighthouse and West Quoddy Head Light in Lubec,
Maine, and Little River Lighthouse in Cutler, Maine, by car and boat to collect
visitor stamps on the challenge map and learn about the history of each light. The
event will start on Campobello Island which is connected to the U.S mainland by
a bridge at Lubec. The day ends with a lobster or chicken dinner in Cutler after
visiting Little River Lighthouse by boat. To register for the Lighthouse Challenge

Feature: Tandem Biking - A Bicycle Built for Two
If you have never tried riding a tandem bicycle you may be missing out. Tandem
cycling is one of those things you seem to either love or hate. Since it requires
two cyclists you have to be able to play well with others.
Recipe: Smoky Split Chicken on the Grill
Splitting the chicken is quick and easy, and its short cooking time makes this
preparation practical for weeknight dinner or for entertaining. Cooking over
wood charcoal and adding smoke gives it an intensity missing in oven roasted
chicken, and I believe the oil and herbs keep the breast moist, in addition to
adding flavor.
