featuring a live coyote from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center!
Participants are invited to attend a presentation, touch furs and skulls, make
crafts in the crafty coyote corner, and join in a howling contest! No registration
required. Cost: $3 per person or $6 per family (parents and their children under

This week's Calendar Pick cracks me up. It's Howling Coyote Day in NH on May
3rd. Well, not all of New Hampshire will be howling (in case you think we're
really nuts up here!)....just at the Amoskeag Fishways, which will feature a live

Spring in Maine is highlighted by the reawakening of nature -- birds, animals,
flowers, rivers and waterfalls. It's also a season full of "bests": Best time to spot a

fresh from a sugar shack, and best time to explore quaint villages without the
crowds.
Recipe: Straccietella Soup
Stracciatella is so simple to make that no recipe is really needed once a cook is
familiar with its preparation. Its success depends upon a well made rich chicken
stock (some make it with meat stock), fresh eggs and well aged Parmesan cheese
mixed with fresh bread crumbs.
